Midnight Academy kap 9 |
Running, I’m running for my life. I’m short of breath; I feel pain for every breath I take. I won’t make it…mom, dad, I’m sorry I couldn’t survive long enough to avenge you. I can hear his steps behind me, closing in faster and faster. How long have I been running? It feels like a long time. Suddenly I reach a high mountain, shit...I’m trapped. Looking around for a way to escape, I see him. He approaches me slowly, walking slowly, like a predator not wanting to scare their prey. His black eyes find mine and I feel myself stiffen, he has caught me. I stumble backwards, my back hitting the mountain wall. In a blink of a second I have his hands on either side of my head, his face close to mine.
“Hush, now…” he murmurs, his breath tickling my skin. He runs his nose along with my cheek, inhaling deeply.
“God…you smell heavenly like always,” he whispers and his hands travel down to my waist, they find their way inside my shirt, caressing, trying to make me less tense.
The black hairs of his brushes against my forehead, please, end this now, no more.
“Hush, relax,” he mumbles.
He put his lip on mine, kissing me sweetly at first, then the predator in him takes over and the kiss turns rough, it’s almost painful. His lips releases mine, traveling down my neck they find the nape of my neck, there he pauses, inhaling deeply then slowly sinks his teeth into my skin. Puncturing my skin I feel a sharp pain and then I feel myself get weaker and weaker.
I woke up screaming, sweating like I’ve been running a marathon. God, I need to stop having these dreams, they’re now good for my heart. What the…it’s cold! I blink and look around, where am I? I’m sitting on the ground…outside! I’ve never been sleepwalking before, how far have I walked? I got up, brushing the dirt off my tights. I’m happy I’d put on the tights and not only the t-shirt, but still…I was barefoot. Stretching I saw I was standing on one of the hills that surrounded Midnight Academy, how the heck did I end up over here…? And more importantly, how will I get down? I walked over to the edge and gazed down, shit…it’s steep. How the heck did I end up here? Cursing over my idiotic sleepwalking, I started to climb down the hill.
“I swear to God, I will kill the person who put these hills around Midnight Academy,” I muttered irately while climbing down.
After a half an hour I had reached the end of the hill. The sun was just about to set; the view over Midnight Academy was amazing, the castle like school building looked like something taken from a fairy tale in the sunset. Erik should wake up in just a minute, I should hurry and get back to our dorm, it’s best for him not knowing about my sleepwalking. I started running but stopped immediately.
“Ouch,” I muttered and looked at my feet, they were completely torn. And bleeding…shit! Bleeding in a school full of vampires might be the worst thing you can do. Grinding my teeth, I took a deep breath and started to run again, I can’t be found like this. I reached the main school building and the pain was indescribable, just a little more, I can do this!
“Hmm…do you smell that?”
I came to a halt. Two vampire males were standing in my way to my dorm…damn! Cold with sweat I desperately looked for a place to hide.
“Huh…yeah, but it smells dirty. Probably a hurt animal,” one of the vampires said.
“Idiot, an animal doesn’t smell this sweet; this has to be a human.”
My heart was beating franticly; they’re going to hear me for sure. Suddenly something grabbed me from behind and pulled me to the shadows. Keeping my mouth shut I struggled to get free, a hand covered my mouth, I gazed down and another hand was holding me still.
“Hush now…”
My body froze when I heard the voice. This isn’t happening! I took a deep breath and bit him, hard. Surprised by my attack, he momentarily let go of me, it was enough of time for me to get away. I had no choice by to run straight through the other two vampires. They gazed at me surprised, but then they smelled my blood and I saw them turning into predators. If I stop now I won’t make it out alive. I reached the small hill that separated our dorm from the school, I dared to gaze backwards, there were only one vampire hunting me, I can do this, I thought to myself. I pushed myself a little more, I can do this!
I turned my head back and then hit something hard.
“You really think you can outrun a vampire, little girl?”
I looked up and saw Daniel standing before me, his pitch-black eyes watching me intensely. I was panting fiercely, Daniel didn’t even look tired. His black hair was even more messed up than usual; it was the only sign that showed that he had been running.
“I think I can outrun you,” I gasped.
“I liked your little trick over there. Got me quite shocked,” Daniel said with a sneer.
“Jerk!” I yelled. – Goddammit Erik, were are you?
Daniel closed the distance between us with two strides and grabbed my chin.
“You’ve been running around bleeding all this time. Do you know how much I want you right now,” he whispered in my ear, his breath caressing my neck.
“Wait, what?” I gasped, trying to break free from him but he was to strong this time.
“Alistar agreed,” Daniel said, kissing my neck. I felt the hair on my body stand, this is bad.
“Agreed?” I gulped.
“Agreed to let me have you for myself,” Daniel chuckled between the kisses.
“What?”

Fast jag tror ändå han gjorde en god gärning där, han "räddade" henne ju iaf från de andra vampyrerna....?
